Description
Booms Fishing Focus on Fishing Tools and Accessories ! We insist on making fishing easy ! You are an avid fisher and need a safe and convenient way to store and transport your rods. You have considered different portable rod racks, but the ones you found are faulty, because when the car seats are tilled back even the tiniest bit, the rod sling with rods in it swings and bangs around, even on a smooth road. The Booms Fishing VBC Vehicle Seat Back Rod Carrier will solve that problem. About Backseat Rod Carrier - for Organizing and Conveniently Storing Fishing Rods This Vehicle Backseat Rod Carrier restores room in your vehicle that would normally be taken up by transporting rods. The sling provides a safe place to keep your rods. Once the fasteners are held securely to the seats, your rods will not get jostled by the movement of the vehicle and everything will stay in place quietly and safely. It can hold up to 3 rods, and backseat passengers don’t have to give up any leg room. You can fold the sling when you want to store it in your glove box or under a seat. Keep your rods out of view, safe, and conveniently accessed with this Vehicle Back Seat Rod Carrier. Read more FEATURES EASY TO INSTALL Simply hang the nylon sling across your vehicle’s headrests and attach to the bottom of the seats to secure. Goes in easy and works perfect to hold my 3 everyday, side of the road, rods. That being said, there is one down side to using this rid holder. Once installed and in use, you cannot have one seat back. In other words, bot seats must be pretty even both in the forward/backward as well as lying seat back. Other than that I love it.I bought this to use on my for longer poles so they don't slide around. I've beat the crap out of these and they hold up! Worth every pennyI went on a fishing trip last year with a buddy. 10 rods total. Last year we broke one along the way. This year I decided to get a carrier. I looked at BPS and found one that would hold 7 rods, this one holds 5, except, it will hold two rods per loop and that means we can take 10. I'm driving a minivan and the longest rod my car and the VRC will hold is 7 feet.Used it on a trip to WI and it held 11 rods. We could have probably fit several more in, especially if we put handles from both directions.I tried the loops hanging down, facing up, velcro loops in front and back and for me, the best way is to have the loops facing up and the velcro in the back. The rod handles need to be in the back and the velcro can cinch down on them, so they don't move around with acceleration and braking of the van. If you're only using bait casters or spincast reels, you may need to put the rod ends at different ends. Beware, in my van a 6 foot or shorter, is the only lengths that can have the handles in the front loops.I'm really happy with the product. I'll add pictures once we have all of the rods in. Depending on rod length and reels, I'm guessing if you're patient, you could haul 12 and maybe 14 rods. Length really hampered my situation, but a larger vehicle should be able to handle longer rods and probably 16 - 20 rods if you use the buckle loops as rod holders and alternate the direction of the poles. One of the things I was asked to rate by Amazon was the suction power of this item. Obviously I am using it wrong or I’d have gotten much more enjoyment from it.I attached mine to the grab handles in my vehicle as per the instructions. The product works as it claims. I have no complaints with it. My vehicle however is not as long as most of my one piece rods it seems so it didn’t work out quite like I hoped. Definitely a solid product though, and now that I’ve heard about the suction…My husband loves fishing and needed a better way to safely carry his fishing poles, so we gave these a try. Unfortunately, they didn’t fit well with the Velcro over the handles without putting the fishing poles in an awkward manner. He got some strong suction cups and he was able to attach to a better spot, and it’s been holding up well for months now! He goes fishing at least 5 days a week and always has his poles with him. This is a good idea but I found that I still needed something in the back of my 4 Runner to hold the reel end of the rig(s) so they don't bob up and down while driving. I should add that my rods are sized 7 and 8 ft. My soltion was to take the cargo area plastic hooks off, cut off the little plastic centering pins then re install the hooks upside down. All you need is a bungee cord and the heavy butt end of the rod isn't hanging out there flopping around loose.I like the idea of keep your rods up and safe that Booms fishing VRC offers. When I started to install it in my Jeep XJ , I found that my year Jeep didn't have a overhead driverside grab bar. I had to move the device back to the rear grab bars for the front section of the VRC and attached the rear section to my rear seatbelt anchor locations making sure it did not interfere with the seatbelt function.I also found that I that it was easier to have the front of my fishing rods laying on top of the support and hanging the rear part of the fishing rod.The rod holder was easy to install and I like the fact that it keeps all the rods out of the way! Frees up a lot of space
