I finally received my backpack today. I was first told that it would arrive on September 10th. (2022) On September 10th, the very day it was supposed to arrive, I'm told it was running late and would now be arriving on September 11th or 12th. Nope. No delivery, No Nothing. On September 13th, (Today) I'm told it will arrive today, which it finally did, at about 2:15 in the afternoon. Bad, Bad, Bad... AMAZON! As far as I'm concerned, you guys totally dropped the ball on this delivery. As for the backpack itself - The BassDash 3670 with lunch box (bag)I wanted to use it on my 9/11 fishing trip, but I didn't get to, because it didn't arrive when promised. That aside, at first glance it looks to be pretty stout/durable - on the outside, anyway. The inside lining of the main compartment and all of the pockets is nylon, so we'll see how those areas hold up. It did come with a raincoat or rain cover, whatever you wana call it, and that too is made of what appears to be nylon. Unless you decide to cut it off, it is permanently tethered to the pocket it's supposed to be stored in. Probably so it doesn't get lost/misplaced. It also has an elastic band sewn into it that should hold it around the pack nice and snug. The lunch box has the same durable outside as the backpack, and the inside is a kind of thin silver lining that's supposed to keep your items cold, I guess. It doesn't LOOK like it's gonna keep ANYTHING cold, but again, it didn't arrive on time, so I haven't used it yet. Maybe I'll put it in the fridge overnight before I pack it and go fishing and be pleasantly surprised later on. I'll probably use one of those Blue Ice things as well. The lunch box measurements are 7-1/2" x 11-1/2" x 5-inches tall. The 11-1/2" side is the side that would run along the back of the pack from left to right. I stood a soda can inside the lunch box, and there's plenty of room to close the lid. Nothing about the backpack or lunch box is stiff, hard cased, or hard shelled, or whatever else you wanna call it, except for what appears to be a nice sturdy bottom, and the cover (only) of the sunglass case located at the top. Also, the hard cover on the sunglass case isn't THAT hard, your glasses MIGHT still be crushed if something pretty darn heavy fell on this thing, or maybe if it got stowed away too tight with some other gear. I believe, however, that the cover WILL provide some protection for your glasses. The backpack is empty and standing up all by itself as I write this, however, it's brand new and a little stiff, so, I'm assuming that after it's had time to "wear in" a little bit, it probably won't do that anymore - we'll see. I know people are different, but I'm 6'-3" and I really wish the shoulder straps would adjust to just a liiiittle bit shorter, so it would ride a little higher on my back. As it is now, the D-rings on the shoulder straps are nearly on top of my shoulders but should be much lower. I doubt I'll ever use the adjustable ab strap - probably cut that off - and the chest strap is useless - again, for me - because it's just way too high -probably cut that one off as well. There are pockets and zippers and straps everywhere on this thing - which is a good thing - and the beverage holder w/drawstring seems to be just the right diameter for a 12oz. soda can. This backpack - in my opinion - was a bit on the pricey side, but I kinda feel like it's made a pretty well and is a good quality item. And if it holds up and lasts for many, many years, I'll also feel like it was well worth the money. Do I like it? Well, the more I mess with it, the more I find myself saying, "This thing is really cool". But in the back of my mind, I'm also thinking that I'm probably gonna hafta modify the adjustable part of the shoulder straps to make it fit me better. Would I recommend it to others? I don't know, I'm thinking I probably would. But then again, I JUST received it, and I haven't used it yet.Fish On!Have tried several versions of backpacks and fishing bags over last 10 years or so, this one is the best yet, plenty of room, large and spacious compartments, tough material and allows to bring everything in one pack, while keeping everything accessible. If you're thinking about a fishing backpack, get one of these!I’ve regrettably been using a single strap fishing tote for all my gear for years. I’ve done some lengthy treks, and the fatigue alone on my back, and traps have been limiting my abilities, and fishing time. This BASSDASH fishing backpack fits all my gear that I need, and then some. It’s comfortable, and fully adjustable to fit my carrying style. I have my backpack fully loaded, and have since been able to go longer distances without any back, traps, or arm fatigue. My one, and only nitpick.. The tackle boxes. I’d personally opt for better quality boxes with better closing clasps. The ones that you can purchase with this backpack tend to open inside the backpack.UPDATE: I thought this update was going to be positive, but unfortunately it’s not. One of the adjustable plastic clasp broke a couple months ago, so I’ve been having to look like a high school kid, and go single shoulder strap, because I don’t feel like having to personally repair it. Two days ago, the zipper broke on the tray access flap. Luckily there’s two zippers, or I’d be f’d. The bottom is fraying along the seams which is weird, because it’s either sitting in grass, or on my tailgate if I’m not carrying it. One last thing.. ( if ) you are going to buy this fishing backpack, buy your own storage trays. In my personal opinion, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, simply because it’s been less than a year, and it’s already falling apart. What a shame, because I was really looking forward to at least get my money’s worth out of it a few years from now.UPDATEI requested a replacement because the malfunctioning zipper problems only got worse. I first contacted BassDash, but while waiting for their response I requested a replacement through Amazon. I received the replacement in about 1.5 days. Bass Dash emailed me back in about 24 hrs and offered to send me a replacement without the return of the defective item. I told them I already had the replacement underway with Amazon. But they also explained that this was definitely a defect and not typical. I trust that because of how eager they were to make it right. I LOVE THE BAG. I am a transit operator and I drive a straight run which means I spend the whole day out on my route with no split to go and grab anything. This holds my lunch and all my disinfecting materials with plenty of pockets for gum, pens, chapstick, transfer punch, SUNGLASSES, gloves, ID badge, COFFEE MUG... EVERYTHING I NEED fits in this bag so I don’t have to worry with leaving stuff behind in the morning or worse yet leaving stuff on the bus or at the bus yard. I’ve finally found the bag that truly works for me. All my coworkers want one. Glad e got the zipper thing cleared up.*********************************************************I was excited to get this bag for work. It fits my lunch and all my supplies in one (I’m a transit operator. I was disappointed that in the first day the lunch compartment zipper began malfunctioning. On the second day the sunglasses compartment zipper started doing the same. The zipper separates when you zip it closed and you have to re-zip it several times while holding it together. I am not over stuffing it... literally a pair of sunglasses and the lunch bag that comes with it... disappointing as this is a very pricy bag and I expected top quality and durability.Perfect for carrying a day’s tackle, plenty pockets for all your kitI loved this bag. I use it for work, I can carry my lunch, paperwork, safety glasses, spare clothing and more with one bag. Lots of pockets to organize your gear, lunch bag keeps your lunch cold for a good length of time (frozen water bottles stayed frozen for more than 24 hours) when used with ice packs. It's perfect to put on the passenger seat. I use the rod holder to hold my hardhat. The glasses compartment has two sections, so you can store dark lenses for your glasses or other glasses accessories. It's comfortable to carry on your back, has a carry handle on top which is sturdy. Bag is generously sized. What could be improved: I'd like a pocket that would fit a flashlight, a dedicated pocket maglite sized kinda. The bottom of the bag is a hard shell, it's great but I wish the whole section where you put the lunch bag would be a hard shell like the bottom. The bag has tendency to sag when you take the lunch bag out or if the lunch bag is empty.Flaw: zippers, I had the bag for 2 weeks and there's already a broken zipper. It needs quality zipper.Update : seller didn't waste no time, as soon as I told them I was having zipper problems they sent a replacement. Very happy with the supportI bought this backpack because I was tired of carrying around a backpack and a lunch bag for work. I absolutely love this backpack because it has the built-in lunch box in the bottom as well as plenty of pockets and storage for my work tools. I also love the fact that I can take out the lunch box and extend the backpack for even more room if needed giving this backpack more uses. One of my favorite features is the front case for sunglasses, providing a strong case for your sunglasses. The backpack also comes with two side holsters with straps that are meant for poles but I use them to hold my flashlight and my umbrella and it works perfectly. The backpack also comes with a rain cover which is highly appreciated. The only downside I would have is the fact it doesn't have a strong mesh back part. Due to this fact if you overpack it it will bulge into your back causing back problems. Also because it doesn't have a back piece separating you from the backpack on hot days your back will definitely be sweating up a storm compared to my osprey backpack which has a mesh that helps with ventilation on hot days as well as a strong support and it's a few centimeters away from the actual backpack giving you room to over stuff. To get around this I put in a book with a hardcover and that helps with the bulging. The lack of cushioned waist straps as well is kind of a bummer but definitely not a deal breaker. Other than that I would highly recommend this backpack anyone. This bag is great. I love the backpack, which makes carrying from the boat or car to the cottage or site so much easier. My only 'complaint' is the divider shelf between upper and lower halves could be stiffer. The upper half is so large, it could make good use additional pockets around the perimeter. If find in my fishing gear, lots of pockets is important to organize.I thought the rain hood was a bit much.. but I have now been caught in two heavy sun showers twice, and it was a great feature.Perfecf size! Holds everything and more!! Amazing quality, durable material, the stitching is firm. I keep getting surprised with new features and pockets every time I use it! Also BONUS! it fits in my kayak!Amazing product!
