This is a great beginner fishing rod. Our five year old granddaughter caught 4 fish on her first real fishing trip, casting and catching the fish herself. We were delighted because at first her parents thought she wouldn't like it because it was blue and not purple or pink. (For some reason the pink one was more expensive and would have been delivered too late and there was no purple option) She loved it and was so excited. But when we went to take it apart to put safely away in her bag for the trip home, it would NOT come apart. Her mom works out and he grampa is still pretty strong, but neither of them could budge it. We were so disappointed, as they have a small car and it's likely to get broken like her practice one - because one piece plastic fishing rods don't travel well, and they have a small apt. When I let them know, they got in touch right away and, after a few misunderstandings, offered to replace the rod or give me a credit. I chose the rod to be delivered to her. If they come through, theyll have a 5! OK! The seller was very attentive, asked me whether I wanted a refund or a replacement. He found a replacement and, at my request, sent it directly to our granddaughter. It hasn't been through it's paces yet...so we don't know if it will come apart after use, as its supposed to. BUT that will be the manufacturer's fault - NOT this seller..he was very concerned, communicated often and committed to making good.
